Position Details
- Job Status: Part-Time
Heritage Woods of Batavia is seeking a Maintenance Assistant to join our team!
Under the direct supervision of the Maintenance Director, isresponsible for assisting with review of critical utility systems and for theupkeep of the physical plant and all equipment in the facility including HVACsystem, gas, water, lighting and power, lawn care, floor tech, and related duties asrequired. The individual shall work as a team with all department heads. He/shewill assist with all matters related to fire prevention and safety.
- Ensure the maintenance of lawns and landscaping, includingcutting grass and snow removal as assigned
- Assist with preventative maintenance on a scheduled basis inaccordance with written procedures and/or manufacturers’ recommendations.
- Maintain work order records on individual equipment thatreflect labor, material cost, and materials required.
- Mechanically repair, replace, and/or install minorequipment, hardware, and controls..
- Assist in maintaining water heaters, furnaces, airconditioners, kitchen equipment and associated equipment.
- Use hand tools and carpenter’s, electrician’s and plumber’stools as requested.
- Conduct fire and disaster drills in accordance with facilitypolicies.
- Assist in promoting facility safety program and a safeworking environment.
- Performs other duties as assigned by facilityadministration.
Education/Experience:Individual should have a high school diploma or itsequivalent. A valid driver’s license is required.
Should be able to set work priorities and work independentlyin the absence of supervision and have excellent written and verbalcommunication skills.The individual should have at least 2 years of maintenanceexperience, a steady work record, and must be able to perform each of the essentialposition functions.Typical duties involve standing, walking, climbing,stooping, lifting, driving, and performing indoor and outdoor activities. Mustmeet health assessment requirements.
